Gosford ANZAC Day march – Derek + Greg 25.04.25
Greg’s daughter contacted us about taking her dad and another person in the Gosford ANZAC Day March, on a trike. They are the president of the Gosford RSL sub-branch and the president of the RSL. Discussing it with the rider, we decided we could arrange it and do it free of charge. These two and so many others, fought for the freedom we experience today! 🙏🏻
ANZAC Day
ANZAC Day is a significant day of remembrance for Australia and New Zealand, stemming from the First World War and recognising conflicts both past and present. Essentially, it’s a chance to reflect and pay respect, and hope for a future without such conflicts.
Our trike rider met the passengers at the Gosford Cenotaph at 10am. Police had been notified ahead of time so waved them through the blocked streets to where the march was starting. They led the march which went for about 15 mins. The march finished back at the Gosford Cenotaph.
Gosford Cenotaph
This sandstone cenotaph is located within Gosford Memorial Park in Gosford, NSW. It bears several inscriptions and two large honour rolls for the First and Second World Wars. Decorating the top of the memorial are several laurel wreaths and the emblems of the three service branches of the Australian Defence Force.
Adjacent to the memorial is a 25 pounder cannon.
