Birthday surprise trike ride – Darren + Faye 03.10.20

Faye rang us to work out a birthday surprise trike ride, for her partner. He is a paraplegic and loves motorbikes. He can’t go on a Harley but he can go on a trike. The great part is, Faye could go with him. So we worked out a plan, a route and a pick up point. Faye really wanted to make it a lovely day and a great experience. After a bit of a discussion with us, she decided they’d also stop for lunch. All our tours are flexible and changeable so just ask us for ideas. If you have an idea we can incorporate it into a tour.

So, our trike rider Craig met our passengers at the pick up spot at in Milsons Point. Firstly, they rode to Jeffrey Street Wharf where they stopped for photos. What a perfect day and a perfect view!

The Kirribilli Loop

Next, they rode under the north side of the bridge and continued on their tour. The underside of the northern end of the SHB – Sydney Harbour Bridge – is very interesting. The Kirribilli Loop was finished by riding past Luna Park and the North Sydney Olympic Pool.

Then it was across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. We always tell our passengers to look up and enjoy the unique view. The more than 6,000,000 rivets are so interesting and the arch is so iconic.

We continued on through a part of the city to Finger Wharf and Woolloomooloo. This led into the infamous red light district of Kings Cross. In its heyday it was the home of the drug lords and the Australian version of the mafia. Not so much any more. Riding on, they rode along Old South Head Road and the posh eastern suburbs of the inner harbour. It is always a nice view through Rushcutters Bay, Double Bay, Rose Bay and Vaucluse. So far, the birthday surprise trike ride was a huge success!

Instead of turning south and going to Bondi Beach, they rode on to Watson’s Bay. Darren loves seafood so he and Faye had lunch here. After lunch they rode up to the Gap for a photo, it faces the Tasman Sea. There was time to visit Bondi Beach on the way back. However, the 2.5 hours was almost up so Craig rode through the city, over the Sydney Harbour Bridge before returning to Milton’s Point.

In conclusion, the birthday surprise trike ride was an extremely success and fun surprise. One of Darren’s best ever birthday presents!
