From Melbourne, our passengers are staying in a hotel in Sydney. The concierge rang us. Could we take them on a ride later in the week? Yes, we could. So, we organised the popular 3Bridges trike tour for them.

Iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge

Steve picked Alan and Jennifer up from their hotel in Darling Harbour. Firstly, they rode through the city and over the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. We always tell our passengers to look up and enjoy the unique view. The rivets are so interesting and the arch is so iconic.

Kirribilli

Next, after riding across the Harbour Bridge was riding past Kirribilli House. Kirribilli House is the secondary official residence of the Prime Minister of Australia.

After that, they rode around the corner to Jeffrey Street Wharf. From here, the views across Sydney Harbour towards the Sydney Opera House and the CBD are magnificent. In addition, it also has an up-close view of the side and underneath of the bridge.

Blues Point Reserve

After there, they rode to Blues Point Reserve. This is another area where the views across Sydney Harbour towards the Sydney Opera House and the CBD are magnificent. Also, there is a lovely view of Luna Park.

They continued riding on through North Sydney and Crows Nest before joining River Road. It is a fun road to ride on. River Road leads to Burns Bay Road which, in turn, leads to another bridge but not one of the main three.

Fig Tree Bridge, Tarban Creek Bridge, Gladesville Bridge

It is the Fig Tree Bridge which opened in 1963 and spans the Lane Cove River. After that bridge, they continued on and crossed the second of the bridges Tarban Creek Bridge. This spans Tarban Creek. Then they got to bridge #2 of the main 3 Bridges, the Gladesville Bridge. It has wonderful views along Parramatta River towards the Harbour Bridge and the city.

This bridge is on the main arterial thoroughfare of Victoria Road. They travelled along for a short while before turning off into the inner west suburb of Drummoyne. Following the shoreline of Iron Cove, which is part of the Parramatta River, they saw some lovely water views. It is part of the 7 km long Bay Run.

ANZAC Bridge

Continuing on, riding onto the incredible ANZAC Bridge – bridge #3. Similarly, it is also great to see without a roof over your head inhibiting the view.

Riding into the city is always interesting, but, because it is the school holidays the traffic is a lot better than usual. So, Steve was able to take them to Mrs Macquarie’s Point, Woolloomooloo & the X (Kings Cross) before returning them to their hotel.

Our passengers thought the popular 3Bridges trike tour was fantastic, a great way to see parts of the city only the locals know about.
https://www.trolltours.com.au/product/three-bridges-trike-tour/

Our passengers are from India and in Sydney for a holiday. They originally wanted to do the city tour. On New Years Eve and New Years Day, there are many road closures around the city but especially the Sydney Harbour areas. So we all decided the 3 Bridge trike tour was the way to go.

One of our trike riders, Craig, picked them up from their hotel. Unfortunately Sydney is still smokey from all the fires but it is still fun riding on the trike and Harleys.

Famous Sydney Harbour Bridge

Firstly, they rode over the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is an experience and a view, that we never ever tire of. We always tell our passengers to look up and enjoy the unique view. The rivets are so interesting and the arch is so iconic.

After coming off the Harbour Bridge, we usually stop at Kirribilli or Blues Point. However, due to the fireworks tonight, these areas were closed to traffic. So, they continued riding on through North Sydney and Crows Nest before joining River Road. It is a fun road to ride on. River Road leads to Burns Bay Road which, in turn, leads to another bridge but not one of the main three.

Fig Tree Bridge – an extra!

The Fig Tree Bridge opened in 1963 and spans the Lane Cove River. They continued on and crossed the second of the bridges Tarban Creek Bridge. This spans Tarban Creek. Then they rode onto the second of the main 3 Bridges, the Gladesville Bridge. It has wonderful views along Parramatta River towards the Harbour Bridge and the city.

However, time was up so Craig dropped his passengers off at their hotel. In conclusion, the 3 Bridge trike tour was a huge success. You can see by their huge smiles.

Andrew and Sue wanted to do something fun and different. They organised the north east Harley tour with us. This means we rode them around the north shore suburbs and the eastern suburbs.

Freshwater, Queenscliff + Manly

Our Harley riders, Yogi and Tony picked them up from Freshwater on the northern beaches. Firstly, they headed down the waterfront at Queenscliff to Manly. They rode along the beach front then through to Fairlight.

Next, they rode across the rare/unusual Spit bridge and down to posh Balmoral Beach. It is a lovely area. Continuing on, they rode past Taronga Zoo to Bradley’s Head for a stop – to stretch and take photos. As you ride past the zoo, make sure you look for the koalas. We often see them eating and sleeping.

Sydney Harbour Bridge + Finger Wharf

Following the back streets of Cremorne and Neutral Bay they came to North Sydney and the Harbour Bridge. So, they rode over the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge and down through Woolloomooloo. This took them past Finger Wharf and the iconic Harry’s Cafe De Wheels.

posh eastern suburbs

This led up to the infamous Kings Cross, where they stopped in the main strip for a look. It is so much tamer than it was in its heyday in the 1960s-70s. Then on New South Head Road, they rode through the posh eastern suburbs of Double Bay, Rushcutters Bay and Rose Bay.

Bondi Beach

Of course, it is imperative to visit Bondi Beach. An almost obligatory stop is at the Bondi lifeguard tower. It was made famous by the TV series ‘Bondi Rescue’. After that, it was a ride down Oxford St to the City. However, time was up so they rode to Circular Quay for the drop off.

In conclusion, the north east Harley tour was a huge success.
Sue wrote: “The Harley riders were great and we had a fantastic time. I will write a proper review as soon as I get time”.

Our passengers are from overseas, in Sydney for a holiday. Of course, they decided a trike ride was the best way to see the sight. A city Bridge trike tour was organised for them. This is going to be fun they said, it was!

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Our trike riders Steve and Craig picked them up from their hotel in the CBD. Firstly they rode across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Make sure you look up, it’s not often you can see the view without metal obstructing your view.

Jeffrey Street Wharf, Kirribilli

After the bridge, they stopped at Jeffrey Street Wharf, Kirribilli. Photos were taken from here, the view is stunning across Sydney Harbour to the Sydney Opera House and the city.

Mrs Macquarie’s Point

Next, they rode back across the Bridge, through the city to Mrs Macquarie’s Point. Similarly, the views west are stunning across Sydney Harbour to the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Harry’s Cafe De Wheels and Finger Wharf

Continuing on, they rode through Woolloomooloo, past the iconic Harry’s Cafe De Wheels and Finger Wharf. This leads into the infamous Kings Cross, through to Rushcutters Bay and Double Bay.

However, time was nearly up so they turned around and headed back to Macquarie Street and the Opera House before returning to the hotel. In conclusion the city Bridge trike tour was a huge success.

Harry’s Café de Wheels is over 70 years old, and has maintained a tradition of daily fresh deliveries of its pies.

The story of ‘Harry’s Café de Wheels’ goes back to the depression years of the late 1930’s.

The world was on the brink of a devastating war, when Harry Edwards opened a caravan café near the front gates of the Woolloomooloo naval dockyard.

Word of mouth is always the best recommendation! Harry’s ‘pie n’ peas’ and crumbed sausages soon became a popular part of the city’s nightlife – keenly sought by sailors, soldiers, cabbies, starlets and coppers alike. Harry operated the caravan until 1938 when he enlisted in the AIF during WWII.

Definitely, best known for their dish “Tiger Pie”, a type of Australian meat pie named after the original founder of Harry’s. We love them, as a result, we eat too many!

Vicky wanted to find out what it feels like on a Harley. Her brother and some family are coming to Sydney next year and her brother loves Harleys. The bridges eastern Harley tour was a great way to see so much of Sydney.

She was doing a test ride to check out which would be the best ride for them. Vicky was thinking two trikes but now maybe two Harleys and one trike.

Anzac Bridge, Bondi Beach, Coogee & Clovelly beaches

Rock picked her up from her home in the inner west. Firstly, they rode across the amazing Anzac Bridge. It is almost like riding in the sky. They cut though the cross city tunnel, to Bondi Beach in the eastern suburbs. Next they headed south along the coastline to Coogee & Clovelly beaches.

An about turn, to head north, following the coast back up to Bondi Beach for a stop at Bondi rescue life savers. Made famous by the TV series. From there, they still followed the coast to South Head. Here, you will see Watsons Bay and the beautiful but sad ‘The Gap’.

Mrs Macquaries Point

Traveling west, they rode back into the city taking a spin around Mrs Macquaries Point. The views of the Sydney Opera House with the Harbour Bridge as a back drop, is like none in the world – just gorgeous. Fort Denison on Pinch Gut Island can also be seen in Sydney Harbour.

After tearing themselves away from the view, they got back on the Harley & rode over the old coat hanger – the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

They continued riding on through North Sydney and Crows Nest before joining River Road. It is a fun road to ride on through some lovely old suburbs of Sydney. River Road leads to Burns Bay Road which, in turn, leads to another bridge but not one of the main three.

Our English passengers had just finished a cruise in Sydney. They decided to celebrate the end of their cruise with a Harley tour 3Bridges. Our Harley riders Jungle and Phil, picked them up from the cruise ship at White Bay.

Firstly, because they had chosen the 3 Bridges ride, our riders rode over the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge.

We organised a trikes Harleys Christmas transfer for this company. Many companies want to celebrate a successful year with their employees, which is so lovely. Troll Tours is happy to help in any way we can. So after a few emails to work out the details, we had everything organised.

Oxford Street, home of the Mardi Gras

Two trikes and two Harleys picked up the passengers from their work place at Redfern. Firstly, they rode up Oxford Street, home of the Mardi Gras. It is a very interesting street to ride down, always something to see! In recent years, Oxford Street has garnered a reputation as Sydney’s primary nightclub strip.

Harry’s Cafe De Wheels, Art Gallery of NSW to Mrs Macquarie’s Point

Next, they rode through the infamous Kings Cross, down though Woolloomooloo and past the iconic Harry’s Cafe De Wheels. Continuing on, they rode past the Art Gallery of NSW to Mrs Macquarie’s Point. The view from here is stunning across Sydney Harbour to the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Macquarie Street

After that it was down Macquarie Street, known as the street of Doctor specialists. Because of the proliferation of medical chambers and surgeries, and the presence of a number of medical professional institutions, Macquarie Street was widely known as the Harley Street of Sydney from the late 19th century until recent decades.

Sydney Harbour Bridge and Luna Park

Over the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge (look up and around, it’s not often you can see the arches without a roof over your head). However, time was up so they were dropped off at Luna Park. Opening on 4 October 1935, Sydney’s Luna Park is a rare surviving amusement park featuring fantasy architecture in the Art Deco style of the 1930s.

Here our passengers would enjoy lunch at one to the restaurants. What a great way to celebrate Christmas and the end of the working year. In conclusion, this trikes Harleys Christmas transfer was a great experience to start the celebrations!

Stewart contacted us three months ago. A group of two English families – adults and children – were coming to Sydney and wanted to do something very fun. They thought a Harley trike family tour around the 3 Bridges would be exactly the right experience.

Two of our Harley riders and two of our trike riders met them all at Circular Quay. After a brief safety rundown they were offered jackets but as it was a very warm day, they didn’t need any. So off they went.

Firstly, they rode over the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. Make sure you look up and around at the arches and the rivets. It’s not often you have a clear view, with no metal roof or walls hiding the view.

Blues Point Reserve

Secondly, they stopped for photos at Blues Point Reserve.

Harley trike family tour
McGuffie Family 20.12.19 – Harley trike family tour

This company contacted us asking about ideas for their Christmas Party. They knew basically what they wanted to do so we finalised the details. A Harleys trikes Christmas transfer was the best way to get them to the party. We organised a Hummer to bring them back to their hotel in the city.

a surprise

It was a surprise for the employees so the two Harleys and three trikes waited outside until it was time. After that, they picked the eight passengers up from their work in the city. Six of the passengers were divided into two teams of three.

Sydney Harbour Bridge to Luna Park

Firstly they rode over the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge to Luna Park. Here they had to do a challenge. After the challenge and a look at the beautiful view, they continued on. The boss and the organiser hopped on the black trike. They took a different route because they went straight to the venue. Some things needed to be sorted out before the main group arrived there.

Narrabeen Beach challenges

The other trikes and the two Harleys rode along some of the northern beaches until they reached Narrabeen Beach. Here, they were handed envelopes containing challenges.

Challenge 1 option – Safe = Collect a jar of ocean water
Challenge 2 option  – Extreme = Take a swim head to toe in the ocean

Along the way, the teams had to complete other challenges such as singing, or finding certain objects along the way.

Newport Arms Hotel

After the Narrabeen challenges, the riders took the party goers to the Newport Arms Hotel. Now known as The Newport but us locals . Here, they were dropped off for their Christmas Party lunch.

However, after a fabulous and fun lunch, we had a Hummer organised to pick them all up. The Hummer took them to a hotel in the city, where they were going to continue their Christmas celebration.

In conclusion, the surprise Harleys trikes Christmas transfer was a huge success. Smiles all around, what a way to celebrate Christmas and the end of the working year!

Harleys trikes Christmas transfer
Touchpoint 19.12.19 – Harleys trikes Christmas transfer

Deb is from Yorkshire in the UK. She is in Sydney on holidays and wanted to see some of the interesting yet less touristy parts of Sydney. So she organised a three hour Beaches Bridges Harley tour with us.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Or Harley rider Phil, picked Deb up from her hotel in the Rocks. Firstly, they rode over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It’s a fabulous view of the bridge from the back of a Harley. There is no metal to ruin your view.

Kirribilli Loop

Next, they stopped north of The Bridge near Jeffrey Street Wharf. The view across Sydney Harbour to the Sydney Opera House and the CBD are spectacular. After the photo stop, they did the Kirribilli Loop.

You’ll also see the Harbour Bridge from a different perspective. They rode under the north side of the bridge and continued on their tour. The underside of the northern end of the SHB – Sydney Harbour Bridge – is interesting.

Bradleys Head Amphitheatre

The Kirribilli Loop rides past Luna Park and the North Sydney Olympic Pool. Riding further, they rode past Taronga Zoo. If you are lucky, you will see koalas asleep or eating their dinner of gum leaves. This road leads to Bradleys Head Amphitheatre which is an exceptionally popular lookout in Sydney Harbour National Park. The views of the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Fort Denison are breathtaking.

Spit Lookout

Following the backs roads, they came to the pretty and posh Balmoral Beach. After driving past, the next stop was the Spit Lookout. Yet more beautiful views.

Further on was the Wakehurst Parkway, which we love. The speed limit is higher than most of Sydney and it is surrounded on both sides by trees. You’ll feel like you are out in the bush.

Time was starting to run out so they headed back south. Riding along Warringah Rd, over the Roseville Bridge to the lovely waterside suburb of Northbridge.

the 3 Bridges Tour

At North Sydney here they ‘picked up’ the 3 Bridges Tour. It was time for another stop and a quick refresher. Then it was time for a ride over the Gladesville Bridge and the amazing ANZAC Bridge.

However time was up so Phil dropped Deb back at her hotel. In conclusion, the Beaches Bridges Harley tour was a huge success. Before we even had a chance to write a follow up email, Deb wrote to us:

“My tour was excellent thank you guys, especially my lovely fellow Yorkshireman Phil”.
Cheers Deb
