Brenda organised a surprise birthday trike ride for her husband. It was also a surprise for their two children.

The eastern suburbs

They are on holidays from interstate so Craig picked the husband and two children up from their at hotel in the CBD. Firstly they rode down the major eastern thoroughfare of William Street. This leads to the eastern suburbs of Rushcutters Bay, Double Bay, Rose Bay and Vaucluse. They are all expensive areas which means they are usually are lovely and these are.

Bondi Beach

Continuing on, they rode to Bondi Beach where they stopped. It is always a great place to stop here for photos. We usually stop near the Bondi Lifeguard Tower, made famous by the Bondi Rescue TV show.

Tamara and Bronte

After that they rode south past the eastern beaches of Tamara and Bronte. In addition, they had time to ride through the lovely Centennial Park. Then on to Oxford Street, made famous by the Mardi Gras.

However, time was up so Craig took them back to their hotel. The surprise birthday trike ride was so much fun. In conclusion, Brenda was so happy she had organised the ride. It was a surprise for all and a memorable one.

Tamarama is an eastern beachside suburb of Sydney, in NSW. The locals (including us) call it Tamarama. It is affectionately nicknamed Glamarama (or Glamourama), as it is a beach where wannabe trend setters come to sunbathe and swim or simply try to be seen. ?

Bondi Beach is recorded by the Australian Museum that Bondi means place where a fight using boondi sticks (nullas nullas or fighting sticks) took place.

The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras is an annual LGBT pride parade in Sydney. We, and so may other people, attended the parade and festival. Hundreds of thousands of people from around Australia and overseas. It is one of the largest such festivals in the world. We have had trikes in the parade for years.

Our passengers are a family from Cairns Queensland. They are in Sydney for a holiday and decided the Northern Skimmer trike tour would be a great way to start their exploration of Sydney. We have to agree!

Views of Sydney, Middle and North Harbours

Craig and Brian picked them up from Manly, near the ferry wharf. Firstly they rode to Tania Park which is adjacent to Dobroyd Head. This area offers commanding views of Sydney, Middle and North Harbours.

After that, they rode via Clontarf Reserve to the Spit Bridge. We love riding over the Spit Bridge, it has wonderful views of Middle Harbour.

Balmoral Beach

Continuing on, they rode past the lovely Balmoral Beach. It is not known by most tourists to Sydney, nor indeed, by many Sydneysiders. Travelling along Military Road, they rode past Taronga Zoo. More often than not, you will see koalas eating or sleeping as you ride past.

Bradleys Head

Riding past Taronga Zoo they ended up at Bradleys Head. It is a headland protruding from the north shore of Sydney Harbour. The views are lovely across Sydney Harbour to the CBD.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

In addition, they rode back through the lower north shore suburbs of Mosman and Neutral Bay. This led to Jeffrey Street Wharf, Kirribilli. Similarly, this has wonderful views across Sydney Harbour. This time to the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

Barangaroo

However, time was up so they rode over the Harbour Bridge and were dropped off at Barangaroo. From here they could continue exploring one of the newest developments in Sydney in the oldest area of Sydney.

In conclusion, the Northern Skimmer trike tour was a huge success. Our passengers saw so much, especially parts of Sydney most visitors don’t get to see. In addition, they had so much fun along the way.

Siobhan is visiting her friend in Sydney. She is from Ireland and they both decided the North Shore Skimmer tour would show them some different sights. It sure did, they saw sights that many tourists to Sydney do not.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge to Jeffrey Street Wharf

Our trike rider Craig picked them up at Circular Quay. Firstly they rode over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Jeffrey Street Wharf. The Harbour Bridge is definitely worth riding across without a piece of metal blocking your view. At Jeffrey Street Wharf, enjoy the wonderful view across Sydney Harbour to the Sydney Opera House and a north-west view of the Bridge.

Taronga Zoo + koalas

After that, they rode through the lower north shore suburbs of Cremorne and Neutral Bay. A fun part of the ride is riding past Taronga Zoo. Often you can see koalas eating their gum leaves or sleeping in the fork of a tree. Similarly, the view from Bradleys Head is also beautiful across Sydney Harbour.

Balmoral Beach and the Spit Bridge

Continuing on, they rode past the lovely and posh Balmoral Beach, part of Middle Harbour. Next was the ride over The Spit Bridge. It has very nice views of the northern beaches suburbs of Seaforth and Balgowlah.

Manly

However, time was up so Craig dropped Colleen + Siobhan at the 16 ft Skiff Club in Manly. In conclusion, the North Shore Skimmer tour was a great ride. Our passengers loved it and saw so much of the northern side of our wonderful city.
https://www.trolltours.com.au/product/the-north-shore-skimmer-trike-tour/

The Spit Bridge, completed in 1958, is of state significance. It is a substantial landscape feature that has played a crucial role in allowing the development of the northern beaches suburbs to occur over the last 44 years. The Bridge is also extremely rare as it is the only lift bridge still operational on a major arterial road.

The northern beaches trike ride was on Helen and John’s list of things to do. They are from New Zealand so it was a long list. Three hours seems like a long time but it goes so quickly. After the ride they said: “saw everything we wanted and then some”.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Brian picked them up from Circular Quay. It is an easy yet central place to pick up but we will pick up anywhere. Helen + John were happy to go anywhere over to the northern side of the bridge. The Sydney Harbour Bridge is an experience in itself, so sit back and enjoy the ride over it.

Balmoral Beach

First stop was Blues Point with its wonderful view over Sydney Harbour to the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Secondly, they rode to the posh Balmoral Beach. Not many visitors to Sydney know about it and it really is worth a look.

Heads – North and South

Continuing on, they rode over the Spit Bridge to the lookout at Balgowlah Heights. They loved the scenery and the view out towards Sydney Heads – North and South. After that, they rode down to the famous Manly Beach and travelled along it. This area has a beautiful coastline, so they rode along quite a lot of it. Past Queenscliff, Curl Curl, Dee Why, Long Reef and Mona Vale beaches for example.

South Pacific Ocean

There is a lookout near Mona Vale hospital so they stopped for a look at the Tasman Sea, part of the South Pacific Ocean. However, time was up so they then headed back to the city. Driving along Wakehurst Parkway is fun, it is lined with trees and the speed limit is slightly higher than the rest of the city.

Back over the Harbour Bridge and back through the city where Brian dropped them off at the Chinese Gardens in Darling Harbour. Helen and John were happy with all the different places they went to and saw.

Testimonial

In conclusion, the northern beaches trike ride was a huge success. They wrote to us;
“Hi Katrina,
The trike ride was great although the weather was a little cold.

Brian was absolutely outstanding, a really nice, friendly and knowledgeable host who went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience and saw everything we wanted and then some.

Highly recommended. Please feel free to use any pics on social media.
Many thanks
Helen and John”

Craig picked up Gillian and her husband to do the North Shore Trike Tour. They were staying in Greenwich, a lower north shore suburb of Sydney.

Jeffrey Street Wharf, Kirribilli

Firstly, they rode to Jeffrey Street Wharf, Kirribilli. From here, there are beautiful views across Sydney Harbour to the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.

Lower north shore

After that, they rode through the lower north shore suburbs of Neutral Bay and Mosman. Mosman is an affluent harbourside suburb where well-heeled locals frequent the boutiques and bistros along Military Road.

Koalas

Often our passengers can see koalas eating their gum leaves as they rode past the Zoo. Similarly, they may be sleeping in one of the gum tree forks. This road leads to Bradleys Head, a peninsula in Sydney Harbour. It also has beautiful Sydney CBD views. For instance, across the harbour to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

the Spit Bridge

From there we went past the lovely and posh Balmoral Beach. Continuing on Military Road, they rode over the Spit Bridge. The Spit Bridge is a steel and concrete girder bridge with a bascule liftspan across the Middle Harbour, Tania Park was the next stop, with its beautiful views across the harbour and through the heads.

However, time was up so Craig returned to Greenwich and dropped them off. In conclusion, the North Shore Trike Tour was a huge success. Most importantly, they saw more than they dreamed they would. They did extend the time frame for the tour from the one on our website.

Balmoral Beach, in Middle Harbour, is a favourite destination for North Shore residents because of its picturesque sheltered beach set against the green backdrop of Middle Head. It is not so well known by visitors and tourists, but the stunning natural beauty of the beach and surrounds make it well worth a visit.

The beach is situated in Hunters Bay, which is the first body of water inside Middle Harbour. Although the beach backs onto the HMAS Penguin naval base, it’s hard to see the military buildings because of the forest that covers Middle Head.

We love it! Our passengers are Harley riders from Perth, WA. They wanted to do something different so booked the 3Bridges trike tour. As Trevor (the headman of Troll Tours) says, it is hard to sit on the back of a trike if you are a Harley rider!

3Bridges trike tour

The passengers decided the three-bridges was an interesting tour to experience. It sure was! It takes our passengers into the lower north shore suburbs and many of the inner west suburbs of Sydney.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Our trike rider Craig picked them up from their accommodation, in the CBD. Firstly, they rode over the wonderful Sydney Harbour Bridge. As we have said in many posts – look up! The arches and the rivets are worth looking at.

Next, they stopped at Jeffrey St Wharf for photos. This is in Kirribilli – one of the city’s most established and affluent neighbourhoods, (apparently). It is located three kilometres north of the Sydney CBD – over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Kirribilli Loop

After that, they did the Kirribilli Loop – as suggested before – look up! You will see the underside of the northern end of the SHB – Sydney Harbour Bridge.

They finished the loop by riding past Luna Park and the North Sydney Olympic Pool. They continued on into the lower north shore suburbs of North Sydney and Wollstonecraft. They rode along the lovely River Road into Lane Cove. Next was the first bridge but not one of the main three.

Fig Tree Bridge – an extra!

The Fig Tree Bridge opened in 1963 and spans the Lane Cove River. They continued on and crossed the second of the bridges Tarban Creek Bridge. This spans Tarban Creek. Then they rode onto the second of the main 3 Bridges, the Gladesville Bridge. It has wonderful views along Parramatta River towards the Harbour Bridge and the city.

Gladesville Bridge

This bridge is on the main arterial thoroughfare of Victoria Road. They travelled along for a short while before turning off into the inner west suburb of Drummoyne. They followed the shoreline of Iron Cove which is part of the Parramatta River. They stopped for photos at Rodd Point so they could have a proper look at part of the 7 km long Bay Run.

ANZAC Bridge

Continuing on the ride, the incredible ANZAC Bridge was next. It is also great to see without a roof over your head inhibiting the view. However, time was up so they rode into the city before being dropped back at Circular Quay.

Our passengers thought the 3Bridges trike tour was fantastic, a great way to see parts of the city only the locals know about. Some locals that is, not all! The 3Bridges trike tour was a total success!

Karyn’s son bought her the Harley tour birthday gift. She was so excited! Karyn caught the train into Circular Quay and met our Harley rider, Phil, there.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

After the introductions, Phil rode over the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. It really is a work of art and well worth a look under the arches. Look up to see the rivets and the architecture.

Next, they stopped at Blues Point for a look. From here, the view across Sydney Harbour to the bridge and the Opera House is breath taking.

Kirribilli Loop

After that, they stopped for photos at Jeffrey St Wharf in Kirribilli. Similarly, the view from here is also breath taking. The same view but from a different angle. They continued on and did the Kirribilli Loop. This takes you under the northern end of the Harbour Bridge.

Bradleys Head

Not far from here is Bradleys Head, is a headland protruding from the north shore of Sydney Harbour, In addition, it has a great view of the harbour and is a vantage point when the fireworks are on in the harbour. Often, as you ride past Taronga Zoo on the way to Bradleys Head, you can see the koalas eating their eucalyptus leaves.

Balmoral Beach

They rode on to Balmoral Beach, another famous area of Sydney. The locality is mostly known for its beach and the expensive residential real estate. Not far from here is the Spit lookout, similarly, it has beautiful views. Ride over the Spit Bridge to the lookout. These views are of various bays and waterways near the Heads of Sydney Harbour.

However, time was up so they rode back to Circular Quay. Karyn had such a wonderful Harley tour birthday gift. In other words, she will be thanking her son for such a great memory.

Saheed’s wife organised a surprise birthday and Fathers Day Harley tour. They were only in Sydney for a short while but it is one birthday he won’t forget. They postponed due to the wet weather but we rescheduled for the next day.

Blues Point

Jungle picked Saheed up from Blues Point. His wife and daughter were there to see him ride away. It is a very scenic area of Sydney with views across Sydney Harbour to the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

Some photos were taken before they set off on the 3 Bridges ride. Firstly they rode to Kirribilli. This also has the same views though from a slightly different angle. After that, they ride through some of the lower north shore suburbs into the inner west of Sydney.

Continuing on, they rode down the Pacific Highway and along River Road to the Fig Tree Bridge. They rode under it to have a look at the Lane Cover River. Back onto Burns Bay Road and over the Tarban Creek Bridge and yet another bridge – the Gladesville Bridge.

The Gladesville Bridge

The Gladesville Bridge has wonderful views looking east towards the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the city. Travelling along Victoria Road, a main thoroughfare, they turned off at Drummoyne, to follow part of the Bay Run.

ANZAC Bridge

Following the shoreline of Iron Cove, which is part of the Parramatta River, they saw some lovely water views. It is part of the 7 km long Bay Run. Finally they rode over the fabulous ANZAC Bridge. It is one of our favourites and also great to see without a roof over your head.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

The Anzac Bridge leads either into the city, to the Sydney Fish Markets or straight onto a ‘flyover’ which leads onto the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. It really is an amazing bridge, make sure you check it out by looking up.

However, time was up so Jungle dropped him back at Blues Point. In conclusion, this was a fantastic semi-surprise Fathers Day Harley tour. A great present and a memorable experience. Don’t forget, we can take you on a trike tour if your aren’t confident about going on a Harley. https://www.trolltours.com.au/product/three-bridges-trike-tour/

Our passengers decided the girls weekend trike tour would be a fun thing to do. The Girls were visiting from Queensland, on their annual girls weekend away.

Our trike riders, Craig, Steve and Syl, picked them up from their accommodation in Liverpool Street, Sydney. They had decided to do the 3 Bridges ride. A great choice, but then again, all our riders are fun and show various areas of Sydney.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Firstly they drove through the city to the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. What a wonderful sight. Make sure you look up to check out the arches and the rivets!

Secondly, they stopped at Kirribilli, near Jeffrey Street Wharf. In addition, there are wonderful views across Sydney Harbour to the iconic Sydney Opera House. After photos were taken, they continued on their tour.

They rode through a few of the north shore suburbs such as North Sydney and Crows Nest before joining River Road. It is a fun road to ride on. River Road leads to Burns Bay Road which, in turn, leads to another bridge but not one of the main three.

Fig Tree Bridge, Tarban Creek Bridge, Gladesville Bridge

It is the Fig Tree Bridge which opened in 1963 and spans the Lane Cove River. After that bridge, they continued on and crossed the second of the bridges Tarban Creek Bridge. This spans Tarban Creek.

Then they got to bridge #2 of the main 3 Bridges, the Gladesville Bridge. It has wonderful views along Parramatta River towards the Harbour Bridge and the city. This bridge is on the main arterial thoroughfare of Victoria Road.

ANZAC Bridge

They continued on riding onto the incredible ANZAC Bridge – bridge #3. Similarly, it is also great to see without a roof over your head inhibiting the view. Riding into the city is always interesting, however, time was up. Our trike riders dropped the passengers on Victoria Street, Potts Point.

Potts Point is an easy walk to the infamous Kings Cross. The girls continued exploring other areas of Sydney.

Our passengers thought the 3 Bridges trike tour was fantastic, a great way to see parts of the city only the locals know about.

In conclusion, the 3 Bridges girls weekend trike tour was a huge success, another great and memorable experience.

The Harley ride transfer Sydney was a present. Allison’s mum bought it for her for her birthday. She was staying in the city and decided it would be a great way to get home.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Our Harley rider Phil, picked Allison up in the city. Firstly, he rode her over the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is a wonderful to see from a Harley, there is not much to block your view. The arches are very interesting to look up at as you ride under them. Most importantly, check out the rivets. The bridge is held together by six million Australian-made hand-driven rivets supplied by the McPherson company of Melbourne, the last being driven through the deck on 21 January 1932.

Kirribilli Loop

After that, they stopped at Jeffrey St Wharf. It has wonderful views across Sydney Harbour to the Sydney Opera House. In addition, they finished the Kirribilli Loop route. This takes us under the north side of Harbour Bridge. So, you will see yet another view of the iconic bridge.

Baulkham Hills

Continuing on, they drove through the north western suburbs to Baulkham Hills. In other words, it is certainly a fun way to see a different part of Sydney. Phil dropped Allison off at her destination, to continue celebrating.

In conclusion, the Harley ride transfer Sydney was a huge success. Allison celebrated her birthday in style and with a lot of fun.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a heritage-listed steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour that carries rail, vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic between the CBD and the North Shore. In other words, the dramatic view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of Sydney, and Australia itself. The bridge is nicknamed “The Coathanger” because of its arch-based design.
