Holly 29.10.18 – Harley ride Christmas Voucher present

A Harley ride Christmas Voucher present was such a great idea. Holly’s parents didn’t know what to buy her for Christmas last year so they bought her the Harley ride. Buying the voucher meant she could pick a date that suited her. Perry picked her up in the Eastern suburbs, drove her around the city, over the Harbour Bridge to the north side where they did the Kirribilli Loop. This involves stopping near Jeffrey Street Wharf for photos and a view across the harbour to the Opera Hause and Sydney city. It also has a view of the Harbour Bridge from the side and you’ll also drive underneath it.

They rode back over the Harbour Bridge, around the Botanical Gardens, past Mrs Macquarie’s Chair and back to the drop off in Bondi. Holly and Perry both had fun on the ride, the riders love showing off Sydney from the back of their Harleys.

Boland + Hoffmann Families 28.10.18 – Christmas voucher trike ride

Christmas voucher trike ride was bought by the sister and her family of the Boland + Hoffmann Families. After a postponement because of rain, between us we organised another date. Our trike riders Craig and Steve picked them up from their home in the inner west. The ride was for 2 hours so they drove along Henley Marine Drive, past Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Jeffrey’s Wharf where they did the Kirribilli Loop. They continued on past the beautiful Balmoral Beach and Seaforth before returning home via River Road and the Gladesville Bridge. The Gladesville Bridge has wonderful views from the inner west towards the city and the Harbour Bridge.

Kim + Kylie have both wanted to do a trike tour for quite a number of years – this is the year! They organised the Beach Beauty birthday trike tour with us. They live in the inner west of Sydney but decided to drive to the north side so they could see more of the northern beaches. We researched the areas and found a good place in Chatswood where there is no time limit of parking fees. Craig our trike rider, picked them up from there and took them on the 3 hour Beach Beauty tour. They wanted to spend more time around the Palm Beach area because they don’t visit there much. Craig knows the area well so showed them the well-known and famous sights (Home and Away territory) and the lesser known but equally as impressive scenery.

Our passengers had a wonderful time, saw heaps and loved the experience of being on the trike. There really is no feeling like it, it is so much fun.

Michele + Stephanie 27.10.18 – birthday celebration trike tour

A birthday celebration trike tour doing the 3 Bridges ride was a great way to celebrate Stephanie’s birthday. They come from Brisbane and decided to celebrate in style so came to Sydney. Craig picked them up from their hotel and drove them over the 3 bridges. The first bridge was the Sydney Harbour Bridge where Craig took them around the Kirribilli Loop. They stopped for photos of them on the trike with the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House in the background.

The next bridge was the Gladesville Bridge. It has wonderful views towards the city from a western perspective. When opened on 2 October 1964 it was, at 1000 feet (305 metres) the longest span concrete bridge in the world. It remained so until superseded in 1980 by the 416 metre span Krk Bridge in Croatia. We are still proud of it!

The third bridge was the spectacular ANZAC Bridge. Seeing it without a metal roof above is a sight to behold, it really is an amazing bridge. Then Craig drove them through the city to their drop off place. A fun trike ride was a great start to the birthday celebrations!

Harley-Davidson Motorcycle History – read the interesting story.

The Harley-Davidson Motorcycle History – we only use Harley-Davidson single seater motorcycles on our tours, all the sidecars we have are genuine Harley-Davidson ones. It is an iconic American motorcycle and was founded out of a small shed in 1903 by William S. Harley and brothers Arthur and Walter Davidson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Motor Company produces traditional cruiser motorcycles utilizing air-cooled V-Twin engines.

When Harley and Davidson produced and sold their first motorcycle in 1903, they were one of many small motorcycle marques springing up across the country. Flash forward more than a century and the Harley-Davidson brand is so rooted in American culture that the history of the company intertwines with the history of America itself.

Harley-Davidson incorporated in 1907, with William Davidson officially joining forces with his two brothers and Harley. Setting down roots in Milwaukee, Harley-Davidson began hiring employees and by the end of the decade were producing bikes using its signature 45-degree air-cooled V-Twin.

The nickname “Hog”

Have you ever heard the nickname “Hog” when applied to Harley Davidsons?

This is how it came about:

Beginning in 1920, a team of farm boys  became known as the “hog boys”. They consistently won races and the group had a live hog as their mascot. Following a win, they would put the hog on their Harley and take a victory lap.

In 1983, the Harley Davidson Motor Company formed a club for owners of its motorcycles, taking advantage of the long-standing nickname by turning “hog” into the acronym HOG. This stands for Harley Owners Group. Harley-Davidson attempted to trademark “hog”, but in 1999 lost a case against an independent Harley-Davidson specialist, The Hog Farm, New York. A court ruled that “hog” had become a generic term for large motorcycles and therefore couldn’t be protected as a trademark.

Nicollin Family 19.10.18 – Harley and trike tour Sydney Australia

Dad organised the Harley and trike tour Sydney Australia for when they came to Sydney on holidays. They are a French family currently living in Singapore and thought that while they are so close to Australia they should come for a holiday. Jungle, Craig and Phil picked them up at their hotel in the city. They drove them to Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, around The Rocks, over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, around the Kirribilli Loop to Luna Park. The ride ended at Luna Park so the family could continue their fun experiences in Sydney. The kids had a blast and the parents loved it too.

A Harley and trike tour Sydney Australia is a great way to see the sites and experience the adventure of a lifetime. We can use a mixture of Harleys and trikes or just Harleys or just trikes. Gail + Karen 13.10.18 – 3 Bridges trike tour for 70th birthday

Karen organised a 3 Bridges trike tour for 70th birthday of her mum Gail. There are actually about 6 bridges on the tour but the 3 main bridges of Sydney are on this route so we call it the 3 Bridges Tour. The main ones are the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Gladesville Bridge and the ANZAC Bridge. When Craig drove the passengers over the Sydney Harbour Bridge he did the Kirribilli Loop and Blues Point. He stopped at both places to take some photos and continued on the route.

It was touch and go to start with but the weather held off. They kept dry while they saw the lovely views of Sydney from different angles. A 3 Bridges trike tour for 70th birthday (or any birthday) is a great way to celebrate!
