Kate

The Sydney Harbour trike tours was booked by Kate for her birthday. She and Jeremy were in Sydney for the long weekend and wanted to celebrate. Our rider Syl, met them at Circular Quay. We emailed a map so they knew exactly where to meet.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Firstly, they rode over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We always tell our passengers to look up and enjoy the unique view. The more than 6,000,000 rivets are so interesting and the arch is so iconic. It’s nicknamed ‘The Coathanger’ because of its arch-based design. It is the largest steel arch bridge in the world.

Kirribilli

Next, they rode past Kirribilli House. Kirribilli House is the secondary official residence of the Prime Minister of Australia. After that, they rode around the corner to Jeffrey Street Wharf. From here, the views across Sydney Harbour towards the Sydney Opera House and the CBD are magnificent. In addition, it also has an up-close view of the side and underneath of the bridge. A perfect place to stop for photos.

The Kirribilli Loop

They rode under the north side of the bridge and continued on their tour. The underside of the northern end of the SHB – Sydney Harbour Bridge – is very interesting. The Kirribilli Loop was finished by riding past Luna Park and the North Sydney Olympic Pool. So far, on the Sydney Harbour trike tours they were seeing great views and some Sydney icons.

Blues Point Reserve

Continuing on, they rode on through Milsons Point, did a left hand turn and rode up a few streets. This lead to Blues Point Reserve. The views over Blues Bay towards the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and the CBD are just stunning. All the more stunning because of the lovely weather.

Mrs Macquarie’s Point

After checking out the north shore, they rode back over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, past the Royal Botanical Gardens to Mrs Macquarie’s Point. It has beautiful views looking west towards the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. They ride past Mrs Macquarie’s Chair. Mrs Macquarie’s Chair is an exposed sandstone rock cut into the shape of a bench, on a peninsula in Sydney Harbour. It was hand carved by convicts in 1810, for Elizabeth Macquarie, the wife of Major-General Lachlan Macquarie, Governor of NSW.

However, time was up so Syl dropped our passengers back at Circular Quay to continue their celebrations. In conclusion, the Sydney Harbour trike tours was a huge success.

We have done a few disabled passenger trike tour for Trusted Travel. The passengers and companions love the tour so the company keeps asking us to more. The passengers come from all around NSW for a holiday is Sydney.

We have plenty of experience with passengers who have a disability of some degree. Trusted Travel provides supported holidays which are a great way to meet new friends and share your experiences. They are also a service of The Disability Trust. There were 4 passengers this time (covid has a lot to answer for) so we organised two trikes with riders.

Our trike riders arrived at the hotel before the start time. They kitted the passengers with helmets and jackets before helping them onto the trikes. Firstly, they rode over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We always tell our passengers to look up and enjoy the unique view. The more than 6,000,000 rivets are so interesting and the arch is so iconic.

Fig Tree Bridge, Tarban Creek Bridge, Gladesville Bridge

The Fig Tree Bridge opened in 1963 and spans the Lane Cove River. After that bridge, they continued on and crossed the second of the bridges Tarban Creek Bridge. This spans Tarban Creek, likewise, it has nice views east to the Harbour Bridge. Then they got to bridge #2 of the main 3 Bridges, the Gladesville Bridge. It has wonderful views along Parramatta River towards the Harbour Bridge and the city.

This bridge is on the main arterial thoroughfare of Victoria Road. They travelled along for a short while before turning off into the inner west suburb of Drummoyne. Following the shoreline of Iron Cove, which is part of the Parramatta River, they saw some lovely water views. It is part of the 7 km long Bay Run.

ANZAC Bridge

Our favourite bridge is the ANZAC Bridge. We think it is incredible, a work of art and design. It is main bridge #3. Similarly, it is also great to see without a roof over your head inhibiting the view.

Most noteworthy, the stay cable design concept development and final design for the new bridge were carried out by the Roads & Traffic Authority of NSW. Finally, the bridge was opened to traffic on 03 December 1995 as the Glebe Island Bridge.

The bridge was given its current name on Remembrance Day in 1998 to honour the memory of the soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (known as Anzacs) who served in World War I.

However, time was nearly up so our riders dropped our passengers back at their hotel, a great way to see parts of the city only the locals know about. The disabled passenger trike tour was such a fun experience. The passengers could relax and just enjoy the feeling of freedom.

surprise 40th Harley tour – Bel 20.11.21

Matthew organised a surprise 40th Harley tour for his wife Bel. Bel didn’t want to celebrate or have a party but Matthew had other ideas. Our rider picked Bel up from home and dropped her off at a different location – at a surprise 40th party.

Our Harley rider Rob, picked up Bel at her home in Freeman’s Reach. Firstly, they headed off via the back roads. They rode past the grass farms to Wilberforce, Ebenezer and to Lower Portland.

Ferry Crossings

They crossed the Hawkesbury River on the ferry at Lower Portland then rode on River Road to the Webb’s Creek Ferry. Here they crossed the river again and rode to St Albans Pub. Time for a coffee and a break and leg stretch. So far, the surprise 40th Harley tour was a huge success. Originally known as Macdonald (after the river on which it is located) the settlement then became the “Town of St Albans” before becoming simply St Albans in 1841. It was named after St Albans, a town in Hertfordshire, England which lies north of London.

Hawkesbury River

The Hawkesbury River, or Hawkesbury-Nepean River, is a river located northwest of Sydney. The Hawkesbury River and its associated main tributary, the Nepean River, almost encircle the metropolitan region of Sydney.

Wiseman’s Ferry

However, the 4 hours was nearly up so they turned around and headed back to Wiseman’s Ferry. Wiseman’s Ferry is the oldest ferry crossing still in operation in New South Wales. The river settlement of Wiseman’s Ferry is located in the heart of the Hawkesbury River around 60 kilometres north-west of Sydney CBD.

They headed back a different way, on the Old Northern Road, through Maroota on Wisemans Ferry Rd. Then it was to Windsor and drop off at the party. They managed to dodge the rain and had a great time. Bel loved her first ride on a Harley, the 4 hours goes so quickly when your having fun. In conclusion, the surprise 40th Harley tour was the best present ever!

The ultimate Harley Tour in Sydney and it’s coastal areas!

If you didn’t get the chance to ride around Sydney on that comfy Harley seat yet, then you’re missing out on half the adventure of your life. Either it’s the massive Sydney Harbour Bridge or the famous Sydney Opera House, stop dreaming about it any longer, grab a soft helmet, tag a cotton towel to your trouser belt and get ready to thunder through the wind on the scenic roads of Sydney. The first question that comes to your mind is where to get a Harley? or which places to visit? No problem, local tourist guides & travel services have that covered for you, but you can’t travel every place in Sydney in one ride. Different tours take you to different places, so you will need to study the area yourself before choosing your rider service and the places to visit. This article will point out the best Harley pathways, so your options are both selective and enjoyable.

Pick up and drop off:

Service providers offering a customisable tour or one-way site visits will pick you up from anywhere in the city and drop you off at your desired destination on that shining chrome-trimmed motorcycle. Following are the best options for short visits from the city:
• Tourist attractions within the city in an hour
• A one-hour evening ride to witness the city lights
• Watson’s bay in approximately one and a half hour
• Manly beach in 1.5 hours
• Coastal run along Bondi and southern beaches within two hours
• Northern beaches or West Head in two to three hours
• A four-hour ride to the central coast via the old pacific highway

All-day tours:

• Blue Mountains
Usually, The Blue Mountains tour will take you to Katoomba via the Bells Line of road. From Katoomba, you’ll ride to the Three Sisters Look-out and alongside Cliff Drive. Over there, you will have your lunch and then cruise back to the city across the mountain via the Great Western Highway and the motorway. This 300km scenic round trip on some of the best roads will give your eyes 7 hours of non-stop pleasure.


• Hunter Valley
The nine-hour tour of Hunter Valley goes up to Putty Road, which will turn us to Broke and then to Pokolbin. After lunch, you will get to visit many of the beautiful vineyards. The area before you are cruising home down the Expressway and then onto the favourite road of bikers, Old Pacific Highway, to end your 380km round trip.


• Central Coast
The Central Coast tour will also take you via the Old Pacific Highway, similar to the first two. Your first break for coffee will be at Mt White before riding into Gosford. Then you will continue riding towards Terrigal, where you will have the famous dishes of the Hoggs Breath Café for lunch while enjoying the beach view from the balcony. After you are done with lunch, you will follow the coast up to Toukley and then join up with the Expressway for home. This will be a five-hour, 250km round trip.


• South Coast
The South Coast or the Southern Highlands tour is the hot favourite and honestly the best. Moving south, you will ride through The National Park to the magnificent views from Stanwell Tops and then to Stanwell Park, where you will stop for coffee. Then you will follow the magnificent Illawarra coastline before heading up towards Robertson, which is located at the top of Macquarie Pass, where you can capture spectacular views of the coast at different vantage points. Then on the way back, you will ride to Picton via the Old Hume Highway and then home. It is a 280km round trip but full of entertainment, and it will take six and a half hours to complete.

Harley tour birthday celebration – Lauren 31.10.21

Lauren bought the Harley tour birthday celebration ride for herself. Why not buy yourself something you have wanted to do for a long time!? Lauren has wanted to do a Harley ride forever, so her birthday was a great time to finally do one.

Our Harley rider Phil, picked Lauren up from her home in Mascot. She had booked a variation of the Eastern Panorama tour. Firstly, they rode through the southern suburbs of Sydney. Past the Domain which is a heritage-listed 34-hectare (84-acre) area of open space located on the eastern fringe of the CBD.

Centennial Park

Next, they rode through the lovely Centennial Park. 120 fields and venues, and 35+ different sports played in the Centennial Parklands. It is the largest community sports precinct in Australia! The history is also interesting: “Originally a swamp and then set aside as land for the water source for Sydney. Centennial Park was reconstructed as a public park and opened in 1888. Sir Henry Parkes’ vision was to create a ‘People’s Park’ in which the citizens of Sydney could ‘take in the air’ away from the Sydney town centre.”

Bronte Beach and Tamarama Beach

Next, they rode east to Bronte Beach and then north to the tiny but picturesque Tamarama Beach. It’s lovely to look out to the South Pacific Ocean from any of the beaches. So far, the Harley tour birthday celebration was a lot of fun.

Bondi Beach

Further north they came to the famous Bondi Beach. Here they stopped for photos and why not with this view! Just to the left of this photo is the the world famous tower of the Bondi Lifeguards of the Bondi Rescue TV series. They stopped at the famous Bondi Beach for photos, when in Sydney it is one of the places you should visit. The beach is seriously nice (but not our favourite) and we usually stop near the lifeguard station, made famous by the TV series “Bondi Rescue”. Bondi Beach is one of the most visited tourist sites in Australia. Bondi Beach is recorded by the Australian Museum that Bondi means place where a fight using boondi sticks (nullas nullas or fighting sticks) took place. So far, and the whole way, the a Harley and trike tour in Sydney was a huge success.

Eastern suburbs

After there, they headed west through the posh suburbs of the eastern suburbs of Sydney, including the Bays: Rose Bay, Double Bay and Rushcutters Bay. Continuing on, they rode through the infamous Kings Cross, though it has calmed down a lot since it’s heyday – home of the famous and huge Coca Cola sign. Kings Cross is also home to nightclubs and ladies of the night though it is not nearly as raunchy as it was in the 1970s (apparently). Next, they rode through the inner eastern suburb of Woolloomoolloo and past the famous Harry Cafe De Wheels. Harry’s Café de Wheels has been serving customers for over 80 years. They make delicious pies, hotdogs and more.

However, the hour and a half was nearly up so they rode through the city and back to Mascot. In conclusion, Lauren loved the Harley tour birthday celebration ride that she bought herself. A tick off her bucket list!
