One of our most popular tours is the Eastern Sydney Panorama Tour. It goes for 1.5 hours through the eastern suburbs of Sydney. You can travel on the trike or Harley Davidson motorcycle to some of the most famous sights of Sydney and Eastern Sydney.

Mrs Macquaries Chair

We’ll pick you up from a prearranged place and take you around Sydney Harbour. Past the Botanical Gardens which has Government house situated in it. Next, we ride past the Art Gallery of NSW to Mrs Macquaries Point. A fantastic view of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge is found here. Mrs Macquarie’s Chair is an exposed sandstone rock cut into the shape of a bench, on a peninsula in Sydney Harbour. It was hand carved by convicts in 1810, for Elizabeth Macquarie, the wife of Major-General Lachlan Macquarie, Governor of New South Wales.

Harry’s Cafe de Wheels

Then, travel through Woolloomooloo, past the famous Harry’s Cafe De Wheels. Harry’s Cafe de Wheels is an iconic pie cart located on Cowper Wharf Road in Woolloomooloo. It’s near the Finger Wharf and Fleet Base East. They are best known for their dish “Tiger Pie”, a type of Australian meat pie named after the original founder of Harry’s.

Ride up to infamous Kings Cross, Colloquially known as The Cross, the area was once known for its music halls and grand theatres. It was rapidly transformed after World War II. By an influx of troops returning and visiting from the nearby Garden Island naval base. It became known as Sydney’s night entertainment and red-light district; however, many nightclubs, bars and adult entertainment venues closed due to the Sydney lockout laws. Today, it is a mixed locality offering services such as a railway station, gyms, supermarkets and bakeries. There are many entertainment venues including bars, restaurants, nightclubs, brothels and strip clubs.

The Coca-Cola Billboard in Kings Cross

Kings Cross is also home to the huge Coca Cola sign. The Coca-Cola Billboard in Kings Cross, Sydney, usually referred to by Sydneysiders simply as “The Coca-Cola Sign” or “The Coke Sign”. It was/is an advertising billboard erected in 1974 by the Coca-Cola Company. It is more often regarded as an iconic landmark than as an advertisement.

Bondi Beach

Further into the posh Eastern Suburbs and we drive past the lovely suburbs of Rushcutters Bay, Double Bay, Rose Bay and Vaucluse. Arriving at the world famous Bondi Beach is quite impressive. You will have a fantastic view from the back of the trike or Harley. We wander along the beach front where you will be momentarily as famous as the beach itself when all passersby can’t help but look at you.

Oxford Street

If there is time we return to your drop off point via the very ‘out there’ Oxford Street, home of great fashion and jewellery designers. The western section is widely recognised as Sydney’s main gay district.

This itinerary can be changed to suit your personal requirements. However, you’ll find the time flies past. Sometimes the route is changed on the day, depending on the traffic. In conclusion, the Eastern Sydney Panorama Tour really is a good one which shows some beautiful parts of Sydney city.

Palm Beach is one of our favourite places in Sydney

Palm Beach is one of our favourite places in Sydney. Palm Beach is a suburb in the Northern Beaches region of Sydney. Summer Bay (Home and Away)

Sometimes, Palm Beach is colloquially referred to as ‘Palmy’; and is used for exterior filming of the soap opera Home and Away, as the fictional town of Summer Bay. It is also the subject of the 2018 film ‘Palm Beach’. Despite the hefty property prices it remains a haven for a variety of artists

It is bounded by Broken Bay to the north, the Tasman Sea (within the South Pacific Ocean) to the east, Whale Beach, Avalon and Clareville to the south, and Pittwater to the west.

This photo was taken from the headland at the northernmost point. It rises quite sharply from the beach to over 100 metres (330 ft) above sea level, and features an operational lighthouse. The narrow sandy isthmus or tombolo linking the south side of the headland to the rest of Palm Beach had extensive fencing and shrub planting undertaken during the 1980s to combat sand erosion.

Fishing is good at this time of the year. During winter, the Australian salmon run so bring your beach rod!

Specifications of Palm Beach

The 2.3-kilometre long east-facing beach curves in a gentle arc between the lighthouse and Barrenjoey Head. To the sandstone rocks of Little Head in the south, beach linking Barrenjoey to the mainland. North Palm Beach extends 1.4 kilometres south from Barrenjoey, with the northern 600 metres backed by a 200-metre wide densely vegetated foredune. The southern Palm Beach section includes the southern 600 metres (2,000 ft) of beach, which curves to the southeast in the southern Kiddies Corner. It receives increasing protection from Little Head with waves decreasing in height down the beach. Rips usually extend all the way to the head, though usually smaller in size, with a weak permanent rip against the southern rocks.

Every so often, Bayer Australia organise a fun outing for their staff. We have taken them few times on various events. Today, we organised a Harleys and trike transfer for them.

Our riders, with an assortment of motorcycles – trikes, Harleys and a sidecar – met our passengers outside the The Wildlife Retreat at Taronga Zoo. After our passengers chose which motorbike they wanted to go on, each rider gave them a helmet and a jacket if they wanted one. Each passenger was told and shown, instructions of how to get onto the motorcycle and where to hold on. With the formalities out of the way, both the riders and the passengers were ready to have fun!

Our riders love doing all their rides. Group ones are special in that the riders arrive early so they can catch up on each others news.

Balmoral Beach

Firstly, they rode past the lovely posh Balmoral Beach. Everyone who comes here loves it! Balmoral Beach is not so well known by visitors and tourists, but the stunning natural beauty of the beach and surrounds make it well worth a visit. After Balmoral Beach they continued on and over the Spit Bridge, Mosman. It is a fun bridge to ride over and it has great views of Middle Harbour. So far, the Harleys and trike transfer was such fun and a great way to see the sights – without a roof over your head.

Then it was up to the Seaforth Lookout which has stunning views of The Spit and the surrounding waterways. You can also see the heads from here though they are at a distance. Meadering through the back streets of Balgowlah and Clontarf is interesting. Another place with stunning views of the Heads, is Tania Park. Tania Park is on Dobroyd Head with stunning views looking across Sydney Harbour and through North and South Heads. Arabanoo lookout at Dobroyd Head is named in honour of Arabanoo, the first Aboriginal man to live among European settlers. It’s a great spot for whale watching, offering views over North and South Head and the Pacific Ocean.

They all stopped here for a look at the views and a stretch. What a beautiful day for a ride!

Manly

However, the hour was nearly up so they rode to Manly. Lunch was booked at a restaurant next to Manly Wharf so our riders dropped them off there. The passengers were going to continue celebrating with lunch. The Harleys and trike transfer was a huge success, it got everyone in the mood to relax and have fun.

Gabriella rang us wanting to organise a bucket list trike tour. It was for her mum and herself, they have been wanting to do it for such a long time. The Dine & Discover vouchers were a help and it’s why they decided to do the trike tour now. It does help, getting $25 off per person.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Our trike rider Craig, picked them up from their home in the inner west of Sydney. Firstly, they rode over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We always tell our passengers to look up and enjoy the unique view. The more than 6,000,000 rivets are so interesting and the arch is so iconic.

Kirribilli

Firstly, they rode past Kirribilli House. Kirribilli House is the secondary official residence of the Prime Minister of Australia. After that, they rode around the corner to Jeffrey Street Wharf. From here, the views across Sydney Harbour towards the Sydney Opera House and the CBD are magnificent. In addition, it also has an up-close view of the side and underneath of the bridge. A perfect place to stop for photos.

The Kirribilli Loop

They rode under the north side of the bridge and continued on their tour. The underside of the northern end of the SHB – Sydney Harbour Bridge – is very interesting. The Kirribilli Loop was finished by riding past Luna Park and the North Sydney Olympic Pool.

lower North Shore suburbs

Continuing north east, they rode through Cremorne, Mosman and down past the Taronga Zoo to Bradleys Head. Make sure you look for the koalas eating and sleeping in the gum trees. So far, the bucket list trike tour was a huge success.

Bradleys Head and Balmoral Beach

Similarly, Bradleys Head has wonderful views across Sydney Harbour to the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and the CBD. Riding on, they rode past the lovely posh Balmoral Beach. Everyone who comes here loves it! Balmoral Beach is not so well known by visitors and tourists, but the stunning natural beauty of the beach and surrounds make it well worth a visit. Crossing the Spit Bridge is fun, it has great views of Middle Harbour.

After Balmoral Beach they continued on past, Seaforth and Clontarf before stopping at Tania Park. Tania Park is on Dobroyd Head with stunning views looking across Sydney Harbour and through North and South Heads. Arabanoo lookout at Dobroyd Head is named in honour of Arabanoo, the first Aboriginal man to live among European settlers. It’s a great spot for whale watching, offering views over North and South Head and the Pacific Ocean.

However, the 2 hours was almost up, so Craig turned around rode back through the north shore suburbs, across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, through the city and back to Newtown. In conclusion, the bucket list trike tour was a successful tick. They loved the whole experience.

A bucket list trike tour around the north shore of Sydney.

Sydney Harbour trike tour – Jeremy + Kate 12.06.21

The Sydney Harbour trike tour was booked by Kate for her birthday. She and Jeremy were in Sydney for the long weekend and wanted to celebrate. Our rider Syl, met them at Circular Quay. We emailed a map so they knew exactly where to meet.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Firstly, they rode over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We always tell our passengers to look up and enjoy the unique view. The more than 6,000,000 rivets are so interesting and the arch is so iconic. It’s nicknamed ‘The Coathanger’ because of its arch-based design. It is the largest steel arch bridge in the world.

Kirribilli

Next, they rode past Kirribilli House. Kirribilli House is the secondary official residence of the Prime Minister of Australia. After that, they rode around the corner to Jeffrey Street Wharf. From here, the views across Sydney Harbour towards the Sydney Opera House and the CBD are magnificent. In addition, it also has an up-close view of the side and underneath of the bridge. A perfect place to stop for photos.

Continuing on, they rode on through Milsons Point, did a left hand turn and rode up a few streets. This lead to Blues Point Reserve. The views over Blues Bay towards the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and the CBD are just stunning. All the more stunning because of the lovely weather.

Mrs Macquarie’s Point

After checking out the north shore, they rode back over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, past the Royal Botanical Gardens to Mrs Macquarie’s Point. Northern Sydney trike tour – Michelle + Rebecca 11.06.21

It was Michelle’s birthday, so she organised the Northern Sydney trike tour. Her sister and herself wanted to celebrate the birthday in style. The stayed a night at a hotel in Manly which is where our rider picked them up.

North Head

Firstly, they rode from pick up to North Head. The views from here are breath taking looking across Sydney Harbour to the city. Next, they drove past the Big Brother house. The Big Brother eye is not on it as the show is not live. However, people who watch the show know the look of the house.

Manly, Queenscliff, Curl Curl and Narrabeen Lakes

Next, they rode along the coast road, past Manly Beach to Queenscliff Beach. Following the coast they rode to the lovely beach of Curl Curl. So far, the Northern Sydney trike tour was a fun experience. However, this was the halfway mark so the rider headed back to Manly. They rode back a different way. It was around part of the lovely Narrabeen Lakes to Mona Vale.

Wakehurst Parkway

Along the Wakehurst Parkway and back to Manly. We love the Wakehurst Parkway because the legal speed is faster than most Sydney limits. Also, it is a haunted road!! Not that we have seen any ghosts.

The ghost, known as ‘Kelly’, has reputedly terrified motorists over the past five decades. Rumours that circulated among locals on Sydney’s northern beaches had suggested it might be linked to a woman killed in a car accident. But now a new theory has emerged from accounts gathered.Those who have claimed to have seen ‘Kelly’ say she appears on or beside the 16km long road late at night and then disappears when motorists swerve to avoid her or look back to check… only to see nothing.

We have done a few disabled passengers trike tour for Trusted Travel. The passengers and companions love the tour so the company keeps asking us to more. The passengers come from all around NSW for a holiday is Sydney.

We have plenty of experience with passengers who have a disability of some degree. Trusted Travel provides supported holidays which are a great way to meet new friends and share your experiences. They are also a service of The Disability Trust. There were 4 passengers this time (covid has a lot to answer for) so we organised two trikes with riders.

Our trike riders arrived at the hotel before the start time. They kitted the passengers with helmets and jackets before helping them onto the trikes. Firstly, they rode over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We always tell our passengers to look up and enjoy the unique view. The more than 6,000,000 rivets are so interesting and the arch is so iconic.

Kirribilli

Next, after riding across the Harbour Bridge they rode past Kirribilli House. Kirribilli House is the secondary official residence of the Prime Minister of Australia. After that, they rode around the corner to Jeffrey Street Wharf. From here, the views across Sydney Harbour towards the Sydney Opera House and the CBD are magnificent. In addition, it also has an up-close view of the side and underneath of the bridge. A perfect place to stop for photos.

They rode under the north side of the bridge and continued on their tour. The underside of the northern end of the SHB – Sydney Harbour Bridge – is very interesting. The Kirribilli Loop was finished by riding past Luna Park and the North Sydney Olympic Pool. So far, the disabled passengers trike tour was a huge success.

They continued riding on through North Sydney and Crows Nest before joining River Road. It is a fun road to ride on. River Road leads to Burns Bay Road which, in turn, leads to another bridge but not one of the main three.

Fig Tree Bridge, Tarban Creek Bridge, Gladesville Bridge

The Fig Tree Bridge opened in 1963 and spans the Lane Cove River. After that bridge, they continued on and crossed the second of the bridges Tarban Creek Bridge. This spans Tarban Creek, likewise, it has nice views east to the Harbour Bridge. Then they got to bridge #2 of the main 3 Bridges, the Gladesville Bridge. It has wonderful views along Parramatta River towards the Harbour Bridge and the city.

This bridge is on the main arterial thoroughfare of Victoria Road. They travelled along for a short while before turning off into the inner west suburb of Drummoyne. Following the shoreline of Iron Cove, which is part of the Parramatta River, they saw some lovely water views. It is part of the 7 km long Bay Run.

ANZAC Bridge

Our favourite bridge is the ANZAC Bridge. We think it is incredible, a work of art and design. It is main bridge #3. Similarly, it is also great to see without a roof over your head inhibiting the view.

Most noteworthy, the stay cable design concept development and final design for the new bridge were carried out by the Roads & Traffic Authority of NSW. Finally, the bridge was opened to traffic on 03 December 1995 as the Glebe Island Bridge.

The bridge was given its current name on Remembrance Day in 1998 to honour the memory of the soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (known as Anzacs) who served in World War I.

However, time was nearly up so our riders dropped our passengers back at their hotel, a great way to see parts of the city only the locals know about. The disabled passengers trike tour was such a fun experience. The passengers could relax and just enjoy the feeling of freedom.

Emilia rang us at the last minute. Could we organise a trike tour over Harbour Bridge? She and her husband had something else organised but it fell through. They thought that since they were already in the city, they may as well make the most of it. Doing a trike tour with us certainly making the most of it!

Our trike rider Steve met them at Circular Quay. We had emailed a map and description of exactly where to meet.

Queen’s Birthday: June long weekend – we are open!

The Queen’s Birthday: June long weekend is a holiday and is a moveable feast. In other words, it moves date each year. It celebrates the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. She is not only Queen of Great Britain but also Queen of Australia. Also of New Zealand and 13 of the 50 other countries in the commonwealth.

History of the Queen’s Birthday

The Queen’s actual birthday is neither in June nor October but in April. The official birthday is in June to increase the chance of good weather for the celebrations in the UK. It not to help the Australian ski industry. The holiday traditionally marks the start of the Australian ski season. It is not a public holiday in the UK.

Since 1748, the monarch’s official birthday has been marked by an outdoor parade known as Trooping the Colour. This was usually held on the king or queen’s actual birthday. Edward VII, who reigned from 1901 to 1910, was born in November. Instead of making the troops parade on a cold and dark November morning, the tradition began of celebrating his birthday officially in May or June. This meant there was less chance of it being chilly and drizzly during the event. This tradition was then carried on by subsequent monarchs.

History of the Queen

Elizabeth Alexandra Mary of the House of Windsor was born on 21 April 1926. In 1952, after the death of her father, King George VI, Elizabeth succeeded to the throne. Thereafter, she was known as Queen Elizabeth II. Queen Elizabeth II continues to reign as Queen of Australia. There was a referendum in 1999 which resulted in the retention of Australia’s constitutional monarchy.
